Cons:

  • Doesn’t Dry

There is a problem and it’ll be a major problem for some people, but first the good news

Fully-Automatic

People live fast-paced lives these days and it’s getting more frenetic with every passing year. They just don’t have time to be sitting around a Washing Machine emptying and filling. So Fully-Automatics are becoming ever more popular. You just flip on a program, hit the start button and then go about your business until the wash is done. You don’t have to do anything. The added bonus is that Fully-Automatics also save you money on water and power because they’re more efficient.

Top-Loading

These are less expensive to build and that is how we got into the low price bracket of 14 to 15 thousand Rupees. You can also put washing in halfway through the wash. This really helps if you’re forgetful. While they use slightly more water than their front-loading counterparts, they make up for this with much lower repair costs and a significantly better ease of use.

Sixth Sense

This is Whirlpools own invention and it’s the brain of the operation. It’s a tiny computer they put inside of the machine to do lots of cool money saving stuff. There’s a bunch of Sensors based around the Drum that all make calculations Firstly, they’ll measure the weight of your load. Then they will adjust the water usage, the temperature and the time of the cycle until the most efficient wash is found. After that it’ll start washing. Sixth Sense is award winning because it saves buyers lots of money. And, when you already have a Fully-Automatic machine, you where already getting a pretty good efficiency level to start out. So now it’s even better.

Capacity

The Capacity here is 6.5Kg and it’s more than enough for a family of four to get all their washing done in one single load. With a family of five you’d be pushing it and you might need to do a second load.

Smart Detergent

No, it’s not a new brand of detergent that will also act as your financial adviser. Instead it’s part of your machine that uses the weight of the load collected by Sixth Sense to then assesses the exact amount of detergent needed to do the wash. Detergents are getting more expensive these days so it was a welcome inclusion

Smart Lint Filter

If you have people in the home who suffer from Asthma, Hay Fever or any other allergies then listen up. Every time you wash the water will go through the Lint Filter removing any Lint that had collected inside. Lint exposure is related to to most breathing related allergies and is a major problem in India today. A problem you don’t have to think about with this machine.

So what’s the catch?

Sounds great right? but I mentioned there was a problem. The problem is that it doesn’t dry. It doesn’t do any drying. Instead of including a drying cycle they’re spent all the money on creating what is one of the best value for money washers in India. We’re talking about 18,000 Rupees here for everything I’ve listed above. They couldn’t have put all that good stuff in if they also had to provide a drier so they chose not to give you one. you’ll have to work out if that’s a major issue or not.

Just one more thing…

They got the balance exactly right here. It’s an Agipeller machine, which means there’s a rod inside the Drum that shifts clothes about during the wash. It’s how it gets your clothes clean, but sometimes they can cause damage. So Whirlpool have reduced the Spin Speed down to 740RPM’s and this creates the perfect balance between harsh and soft washing. You get the best of the tough Agipeller Wash Method that’ll remove any stains, and at the same time you get reduced Drum rotation meaning less chance of damage to clothes.

Conclusion.

You’ll either love it or strongly dislike it. If you don’t need a drier or already have one then you should leap forward and buy this thing right now. It’s obscenely good value. But if you really need a drier and don’t have one then this will be no good for you. There’s no point having an amazing value washer if you’ve no means to dry your clothes right? So only you can say whether or not this is a good purcahse for your specific circumstances.
