Samsung haven’t exactly been silent in recent years about the advances they’ve made in Washing Machine manufacture. In fact they’ve been quite loud. Which is why I jumped at the chance to test out and review one of their most recent models. It contains their new EcoBubble Technology which they claimed was a revolution in efficiency. They also said that this machine offered intense stain removal on an easy to use design. We’ll just see about that. The following is a detailed review of the Samsung WF652U2BHWQ/TL Fully Automatic Front Loading Washing Machine. And it’ll give you the goods on whether Samsung have been blowing hot air, or if they really did make genuine improvements compared to rivals.

What is EcoBubble?
Samsung designed this technology themselves. It mixes foam bubbles into the water and the detergent. According to Samsung, this allows detergent to get deep into fabric much faster than it usually can. They claim that you no longer need hot water washes anymore because of this speed. Well the truth is, you’ll still need hot water washes sometimes, but you can achieve more in terms of stain removal at cooler temperatures. So, it will save you lots of money on power.
Further increasing the efficiency is the Front Loading nature of this model. They tend to use less water than Top Loaders because clothes don’t have to be completely covered. So you’ll save money on water. You can’t put more clothes in halfway through though on Front Loaders but they do clean clothes better because of the position of the Drum. And, you can also stack them whereas you can’t with Top Loaders. So Front Loaders are the machine of choice for people in cramped accommodation as well as those who want to save money.
With Semi-Automatics you have to be there to do stuff. Stuff like choosing a dry program when the wash finishes. And, other stuff like rinsing, replacing Tubs and adding water. More and more people are turning to Semi-automatics because you don’t have to do any of this stuff anymore. You just set your program, and leave. It’ll go right the way through the wash and dry cycle without you needing to do anything. They’re also much more efficient in terms of water and electricity use than their Semi-Automatic counterparts.
A little on the low side. Although if you have a family of four you should get all the washing done in one load. If you have more people than that then you’ll need to do two loads. I’d have liked to see more capacity to go with all this efficiency.
Intensive Stain Removal
Think of this as EcoBubble Ultra. The machine will completely cover all your clothes with those foam bubbles. It’ll then leave them to soak there, before starting the normal wash cycle. This does work well to get tough stains out of clothes and it should be the go to program for when the kids come home.
This is a bit of a double edged sword. The Spin Speed here goes up 1200RPM’s. That’s fast. It’s so fast that there are very few machines that beat it for speed. It means that you’ll definitely have all your clothes come out free of stains. Especially with the Intensive Stain removal and the EcoBubble wash also included. This thing is so good that it’ll even get tough mud stains out with ease. Here’s the problem. It’ll get them out because it’s rough. At 1200RPM’s you’re getting one of the most rigorous washes out there and it may damage clothes. To ensure this doesn’t happen you need to steer clear of the tougher wash programs. You don’t need that little bit extra. Certainly in the case of fragile fabrics, you may see torn clothes in the rougher wash programs.
Many people in India live in areas with lots of power surges and cuts. In event of a power surge up to 25%, this machine with stabilise the voltage back to normal. This will prolong the life of the machine. In event of a complete cut in power, all of your previous settings will be restored and any wash you where doing will be resumed.
I always tell my readers to avoid filling any Washing Machine to high. Always take 2 tenths off the Capacity. So 6.5KG is really 6.3KG of clothes. Filling to full is the best way to get an inferior wash and damage.
Take this as your motto: Clean your clothes, but also clean your clothes cleaning machine. Most people don’t and failure to clean your Drum will result in build-ups of Bacteria on this and any other machine. So make sure you clean your Drum at least once a month. There is a chemical-free Drum cleaning program provided here so it should make the job pretty easy.
I have to applaud Samsung on this model. If it where not for the Capacity which is slightly on the low side, I’d be labelling this model the best in the business for the price. Unfortunately the Capacity won’t be good for large families so it does have some limitations. If you have a family of 4 people or less though, I’d strongly recommend a purchase. Being Fully Automatic and Front Loading you’re going to get lots of water and energy efficiency. So it’ll save you money in the long-term. It’ll also save you time as being Fully Automatic, you won’t need to be there during the wash cycle. You’ll get a better wash than you may be used to, with the Intensive Stain Removal program and EcoBubble. Detergent gets into the fabric far quicker than on other machines, for stain-free results. It is very fast though and extremely rough, so steer clear of the tougher programs. Trust me, you don’t need them and you might damage clothes using them. Other than that, this is a supreme machine. Thank you for reading.
